U.S. Senator Jesse Helms brought not only his powerful name and stature to the Joint Rotary Council Meeting at the Adams Mark Hotel, but he accompanied U.N. Ambassador Richard Holbrooke who was our esteemed speaker.  North Carolina's senior Senator introduced the prestigious Ambassador Holbrooke to our packed room of over 700 Charlotte area Rotarians.

Donald Treimann, Rhode Island's representative to the UN in New York spoke about aid and health programs in the Third World and what is being done through the U.N. to alleviate those horrible problems.

Senator Jesse Helms and our very own Mayor Pat McCrory ... the Republican ticket couldn't get much stronger than claiming these two.

Senator Helms and Charlotte Rotary president Worth Williamson (Edmiston Investing Consulting Group) ... each is a leader of a very powerful group.

Rotary District Governor Butch Martin helped welcome the esteemed Senator Helms back to Charlotte.
