Katie Tyler (Tyler II Construction Co.) introduces our impressive roster of Visitors and Visiting Rotarians.  Our Dec. 7th meeting was especially poignant with our special guests consisting of Pearl Harbor surviving military men.

Charlotte Rotary President Worth Williamson (Edmiston Investing Consulting Group) prepares to introduce our emcee for our December 7th Remembrance Of Pearl Harbor - internationally recognized motivational speaker and former WBT/WBTV on-air host Ty Boyd, himself a former naval officer.  Sitting to Ty's left is City Councilwoman Lynn Wheeler who presented and read the Proclamation from our Mayor declaring December 7th in memory of Pearl Harbor Day with a salute from Charlotte Rotary.

Heroes, each one.  Recalling December 7th 1941 evoked emotions in all of us.  Pearl Harbor survivors attending our meeting were:  Ernest Bonner, Joe Grice, Henry Garthwohl, Charles Conley, Allen Christenbury and Joe Leonard, Joseph Carpenter and Oliver Thompson.

Barry Miller joins all 250+ Charlotte Rotary members in applauding the efforts of the U.S. Navy - represented via video by the past 1st Commanding Officer of the USS Charlotte in Hawaii, Commodore Jeff Fowler.

Bob Freedman, Commander Ed Gallerin and Price Gwynn (our own WWII hero) are smiling with pride at the unique and beautifully executed December 7th program presented by Charlotte Rotary.  Special accolades to our program committee:  Richard Bailey, Edgar Love, Dick Brigden, Ric Cannada, Bill Furr, Ed Ruff, Martin Waters and Bill Wood.  Very special thanks to Barry Miller, Bob Freedman and Richard Bailey for pulling off one of the great tribute programs in our club's history.
