Jim Kelley (Roman Catholic Diocese of Charlotte), Rusty Brink (Presbyterian Hospital Foundation) and Charlene Kammerer (Bishop of the Western NC Conference of the United Methodist Church) listen intently to the inspiring words of our excellent speaker Bruce Parker.  Bruce is not only at the top of the list of Charlotte's most generous philanthropists but he's also way at the top of the list of the most respected people in our city.  Bruce Parker is an honorable man.

Tom Burgess (himself a distinguished and very fine man) proposes six new board members for the years beginning July 2000, selected from our general membership by a nominating committee consisting of:  Fred Lowrance, Ronnie Pruett, Worth Williamson, Don Steger and Tom Burgess. (Translation: Two immediate past presidents, current president, incoming president and long-time Charlotte Rotary leader and chair of the Nominating Committee.)

Don Steger (Reeder Memorial Baptist Church and major community leader) joins Jim Appleby (Lee Hecht Harrison) in officially welcoming Bruce Parker to Charlotte Rotary.

Charlotte Rotary President Worth Williamson (Edmiston Investing Consulting Group), Bruce Parker, John Rogers (Covenant Prsbyterian Church), Bill Furr (Cumulus Fibres) and Patricia Baldwin (Hornets Nest Girl Scout Counsel) represent the heart of Charlotte in terms of the giving of time, energy, ideas and commitment to help others.

Rick Jackson (WBT AM&FM/WLNK) chats with Bruce Parker about Rick's News Updates presented weekly near the beginning of each meeting.  A great addition to our programs!

Hal Bouton (WTVI) congratulates our speaker on his thought-provoking and very personal program which made us all think about how we should be living our lives.  Following his presentation, one of our members posed this question to our speaker, "Why aren't there more people like you?"  We all wonder that and wish for it.
