Our fearless leader - Charlotte Rotary President Worth Williamson - salutes our membership as we once again filled the Sheraton Four Points Hotel in uptown Charlotte to the for our weekly general meeting.

Our very popular speaker this week - Bill McCanless, President and CEO of Food Lion, Inc. - delivered a compelling message on the the path Food Lion plans to take in the near future, emphasizing growth and customer service.

Sharon Darling, President of the National Center for Family Literacy, came to Charlotte Rotary to salute our membership for taking leadership in this community in stressing literacy.  She graded us an "A+!"  --- And we graded her an "A+" right back for her commitment to such an important cause.

President Worth talks things over with a special Rotarian with "Class" (and that's with a capital "C") Catherine Browning.

Ed Kiser (University of North Carolina at Charlotte) and Bill Barnhardt (Barnhardt Elastic Corporation) represent the top quality of Charlotte Rotary membership.

The "ultimate Rotarian" Powell Majors ( a 61-year Rotarian and still going strong!) welcomes our terrific speaker Bill McCanless.

Ken Harris (Harris Plans) was acclaimed by Sharon Darling as a major contributor the the fight vs. illiteracy by this distinguished head of the National Center for Family Literacy. Congrats, Ken!
