Brand new Charlotte Rotary president Don Steger (Pfeiffer University) sparks smiles from our fabulous speaker Jane Cooper, president of Paramount's Carowinds and Jeannie Falknor (The Business Journal) during our regular weekly meeting held each Tuesday at the Sheraton Four Points in uptown Charlotte.

Tony Zeiss (Central Piedmont Community College) presents a few feature article ideas on  his college to The Business Journal publisher Jeannie Falknor while Jane Cooper grabs some grub pre-speech.

Richard Bailey (Charitable Gift Planning Services) and Mac Jackson socialize pre-meeting in anticipation of some well-placed quips on the part of President Steger.

With flawless name pronunciation, Harry Daugherty introduces visiting Rotarians and guests.  (Harry's golfing buddy Byron Bullard is golfing up a storm in Blowing Rock this summer.)

Eric Smith (Charlotte-Mecklenburg School System's "Top Dog") and Marilynn Bowler (Charlotte Hornets & Charlotte Sting) seem to be discussing the recent public hearings ...

Jeannie Falknor and Stu Powell (NBC6 Top Banana) talk about "the media." Stu came as Marilynn Bowler's guest and we're hoping he's going to join us at Charlotte Rotary.

Bruce Darden (Charlotte Spinal Center), Don Steger and Leland Parks (Davidson College Library) no doubt chat about one of Leland's infamous Health & Happiness reports.

Jim Kelley (Diocese of Charlotte), Mary-Stuart Brooks (Rinehart & Associates) and Bob Young (UNC Charlotte Athletic Foundation) talk about good things happening in Charlotte to make us a better community.

Kurt Scholler (American Truetzschler) and Helmut Deussen.

Hal Bouton (WTVI) and John Layne take a minute to catch up post-meeting.  Charlotte Rotary allows so many civic and business leaders to spend time exchanging ideas.

Bronnie McNabb (United Methodist Foundation of Western Carolina) brought a guest to our meeting - Matthew Phillips ( a divinity student at Duke University) - to introduce him to what Charlotte Rotary is all about.

Martin Waters (Waters, Inc.) and Eugene Kiser (Kip, Inc.)

Chase Saunders (The McNair Law Firm) and Sadler Barnhardt (Consent Sys. Com, Inc.) represent two of Charlotte Rotary's classiest members.

Jeannie Falknor, Randall Groves (Groves, Dunklin & Boggs) (with his signature dark glasses) and Roger Sarow (WFAE) hang around to socialize after Jane Cooper's excellent presentation on theme parks.
