Christmas Musical Message
By George MacBain

Tuesday was a special program
in honor of the upcoming Christmas Holiday.
Our meeting was blessed by Reverend George Thompson with an
inspiring invocation highlighting the Power of Music and the Unity
of the many diverse faiths during this time of year. We welcomed new
members Mike Hummer and Bill Staton, and Pender McElroy recognized
Katie Tyler and Tyson Bennett for their continued support to the
Rotary Foundation. The staff at the hotel received our Christmas
gift and departed to a standing ovation, as did Sandy, when she was
recognized for her wonderful accomplishments with a small token of
the Clubs appreciation.
Several Rotarians were on hand to spread their Christmas magic
through group singing, solos, and music: the very talented Thomas
Moore's solo was "O Holy Night"; Big Bad Dave Erdman lead the group
in "Rocking around the Christmas Tree" with a guitar accompaniment;
Meg McElwain's beautiful solo was "White Christmas"; Pam Daigle (who
knew!) played "I Wonder as I Wander" on her saxophone; Biff Virkler
sang "Winter Wonderland"; Greg Walker performed his version of "A
Tender Charlotte Christmas" and to finish up the program, everyone
participated in Auld Lang Syne."
Many thanks to all that contributed to a wonderful program.
Merry
Christmas!!!
